Valley's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Florin Panthers as the Valley Vikings made off with a 13-1 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Vikings needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Erick Velasquez was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).
In other batting news, AJ Calvillo was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Josh Brown was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
