Softball Recap: Holy Cross Wins Going Away Against Valley

Holy Cross won the last time they faced Valley and things went their way on Friday too. The Cougars blew past the Vikings 22-3. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Addie McVey and Breelyn Willett did most of the damage at the plate: McVey got on base in two of her three plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Willett got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. That's the most runs McVey has posted since back in March. Kynlee Senn was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.

Holy Cross always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Holy Cross and bumps their season record up to 8-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Valley, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.
