Recap: Maywood CES Wolfpack vs. Santee Falcons
The Maywood CES Wolfpack's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to Santee. Maywood CES lost against Santee in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 42-38 score last time.
Santee got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Darnell Miller out in front who scored 10 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Miller has scored at least 25% of Santee's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ramaan Payre, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Maywood CES now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Santee, their win bumped their record up to 1-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maywood CES will face off against University at 4:30 p.m. on December 14th. Hopefully University focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday. As for Santee, they will head out on the road to face off against Manual Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Manual Arts' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
