Preview: Swanville Bulldogs vs. Upsala Cardinals
Swanville has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will take on the Upsala Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Swanville beat St. John's Prep 57-45. That 57-45 margin sets a new team best for Swanville this season.
Meanwhile, even though Staples-Motley scored an imposing 60 points on Monday, Upsala still came out on top. Upsala managed a 64-60 win over Staples-Motley. Given Upsala's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Staples-Motley is ranked 168th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jack Primus, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Noah Boeckermann, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Swanville's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3. As for Upsala, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Swanville strolled past Upsala in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 55-37. Does Swanville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Upsala turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
