Baseball Recap: Campbell-Savona Takes a Loss

Campbell-Savona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Avoca Central Tigers. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Liam Maddock made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.

Campbell-Savona's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Avoca Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Campbell-Savona will be playing at home against Mansfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Avoca Central, they are taking a road trip to challenge Addison at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
