Basketball Recap: Union Catholic Comes Up Short

Union Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 74-60 bruising from the Plainfield Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Cardinals are ranked seventh).

Union Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Plainfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.

Union Catholic will square off against Union at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Plainfield, they will welcome Roselle Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
