Basketball Recap: Viewmont Vikings vs. Bountiful RedHawks
If the Viewmont Vikings were riding high off their 63-41 takedown of the Roy Royals last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Viewmont was the victim of a tough 62-41 loss at the hands of the RedHawks on Wednesday. Viewmont has not had much luck with the RedHawks recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Viewmont lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mary Carr, who scored 13 points. Aubrey Mulitalo was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Bountiful was led to victory by Milika Satuala and Taylor Harvey. Satuala almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds, while Harvey scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harvey has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mae Johnson, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Viewmont's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7. As for Bountiful, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.
Viewmont will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Bees at 5:15 p.m. Box Elder is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Bountiful, they will face off against the Knights at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Northridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the RedHawks are ranked sixth).
