Adding to the longest winning streak in Big North - Patriot this week, Mahwah beat Westwood 24-20. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
River Dell took down Pascack Hills 35-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Craig Carmilani provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Cardinals lost to Mahwah. He completed 20 passes for 343 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 60 yards. Carmilani's favorite target this week was Nolan Borgersen, who caught 11 passes for 246 yards.
Borgersen had a great week catching the football as Westwood lost to Jeff Remo's team. He caught 11 passes for 246 yards.
Wesley McKoy threw for 158 yards and 3 touchdowns.
McKoy put up the best numbers through the air as Dwight Morrow topped Ramsey. McKoy's favorite target this week was Juwann Winfree, who caught 6 passes for 108 yards.
Westwood's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cardinals feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Carmilani has thrown for 1,437 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Borgersen has 44 catches for 958 yards.
Vito Campanile's team's Borgersen is a few successful plays short of surpassing 1,000 yards receiving this season. He needs only 42 receiving yards against the Maroon Raiders to hit that benchmark. He has recorded 44 catches for 958 yards this year.
The Cardinals are in second place, while Dwight Morrow is in third place.
There should be lots of points scored when Westwood and Barry Harris' team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Cardinals comes in having scored 213 this season, while the Maroon Raiders have scored 191. Westwood scored 20 points last week as it lost to the Thunderbirds.
Dwight Morrow led the league in scoring this week by notching 41 points on the Rams. McKoy ran for 24 yards during the win.
