Baseball Recap: Sage Creek Triumphs

Sage Creek won the last time they faced San Pasqual and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bobcats had just enough and edged out the Golden Eagles 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Hudson Jahries spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sage Creek's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Stephens, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Sean Saiki was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Sage Creek's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-9. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for San Pasqual, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Golden Eagles beat Sage Creek by a score of 3-2 on Saturday.
