Basketball Recap: Trotwood-Madison Comes Up Short

Trotwood-Madison played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 76-20 loss at the hands of the Fairmont Firebirds. The Rams have struggled against the Firebirds recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Janiyah Boykin was Trotwood-Madison's leading scorer, having posted ten points. Kamiah Williams held things down on the boards with three rebounds.

Fairmont found their leader in sophomore Janiyah Hargrave, who went 9-for-12 en route to 22 points and four steals. Hargrave's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Kaylah Thorton was another key player, shooting 46% from the field on her way to 14 points and seven steals.

Trotwood-Madison's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Fairmont, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Trotwood-Madison wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-11 defeat against Wayne on the 29th. As for Fairmont, they are taking a road trip to challenge Miamisburg at 7:30 p.m. on the 3rd.
