Rootstown entered their tilt with Champion on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Rovers who were credited with the win. The Rootstown Rovers got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Champion Golden Flashes' two. Rootstown's winning goal came courtesy of Melvin Acosta.

Rootstown's victory bumped their record up to 15-4-1. As for Champion, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 19-1-1.

Looking ahead, Rootstown will square off against Central Christian on Sunday. Central Christian's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Rootstown's offense will have their work cut out for them. Champion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
