Softball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Valerie Leon and Kathryn Worley Lead Treasure Coast to Victory

Treasure Coast's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They never let the Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Mia La Terra was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Treasure Coast let Kathryn Worley and Valerie Leon run wild. Worley scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4, while Leon scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most hits Worley has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Adriana Martinez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Treasure Coast's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Lincoln Park Academy, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-5-1.

Looking ahead, Treasure Coast will welcome Synergy Magnet K12 at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Treasure Coast is facing Synergy Magnet K12 at the right time seeing as Synergy Magnet K12 is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lincoln Park Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Vero Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
