Basketball Recap: Pueblo West's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Pueblo West entered their contest against Liberty on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Pueblo West Cyclones took a 67-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Liberty Lancers. If the Cyclones were looking for revenge after losing 70-58 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Cyclones players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andrew Trujillo, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 19 boards. Trujillo has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 11 times he's played. Ezekiel Stump was another key player, going 8 for 18 on his way to 17 points.

London Praytor continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Liberty, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 18 boards. The dominant performance gave Praytor a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Mcallister, who posted eight points and eight rebounds.

Pueblo West's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-6. As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Pueblo West didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-59 loss against Rampart on the 4th. Liberty has also already played their next game, a 65-62 win against Fountain-Fort Carson on the 4th.
