Soccer Game Preview: Tempe Prep vs. Horizon Honors

Tempe Prep and Horizon Honors are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2014, but likely not for long. The Tempe Prep Knights will be playing at home against the Horizon Honors Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tempe Prep will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each contest than the last.

Tempe Prep is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Lincoln Prep an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won four games by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Horizon Honors duked it out withVeritas Prep on Tuesday. Horizon Honors came out on top against Veritas Prep by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Austyn Wilson and Maya Wells scored both of Horizon Honors' goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Horizon Honors now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Tempe Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Tempe Prep skirted past Horizon Honors 3-2 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Will Tempe Prep repeat their success, or does Horizon Honors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
