Volleyball Preview: Durand Meets Eastern

The Durand Railroaders will challenge the Eastern Quakers at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Thursday, Durand didn't have quite enough to beat Chesaning and fell 3-2.

Durand took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final set scores came out to 25-19, 22-25, 11-25, 25-12, 15-13.

Meanwhile, Eastern came up short against St. Johns on Thursday, falling 3-0.

While Eastern was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into St. Johns' winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 25-8, 25-11, 25-18.

Durand has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's dealt a heavy blow to their 6-5-1 record this season. As for Eastern, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3-1.
