Basketball Recap: Jackson Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Jackson has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Zane Trace Pioneers. The Ironman/Ironladies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pioneers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Zane Trace's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Houston, who posted 12 points. The dominant performance gave Houston a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Jarrell, who earned 12 points.

Jackson's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5. As for Zane Trace, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Jackson and Zane Trace should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Jackson (ranked 150th) will meet Washington (ranked 459th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jackson will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Meanwhile, Zane Trace will face off against Huntington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday up 478 places (199 vs. 677).
