Lakeside took a 13-run defeat the last time they faced off against Grovetown, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers won by a run and slipped past the Warriors 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Warriors on Tuesday, they had to take a 14-1 loss.

MAKALEIGH WHITE made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. WHITE was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

WHITE wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was LAUREN CONLEY, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Lakeside's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Grovetown, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeside will host Social Circle at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grovetown, they will challenge Evans at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season.
