Football Recap: Huntingdon Wins Going Away Against Jackson Central Merry + How To Watch

Huntingdon won the last time they faced Jackson Central Merry and things went their way on Friday too. The Mustangs blew past the Cougars 27-7. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Mustangs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Cougars are ranked 218th).

Kenton Smith threw for 53 yards and one TD. Tyreke Hutch was his top target, picking up 44 receiving yards.

The win made it two in a row for Huntingdon and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 13 points in those games. As for Jackson Central Merry, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Huntingdon will venture away from home to challenge Gibson County on Friday. The Mustangs will be up against the Pioneers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Jackson Central Merry, they will take on Milan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 11.8 points per game this season, so the Cougars' offense will have their work cut out for them.
