Volleyball Recap: Skyline Falls Short Against Ranked Syracuse

Skyline faced Syracuse in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Skyline might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Syracuse: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-22, 22-25, 26-24.

Isa Taylor paced Skyline's offense, picking up 18 kills. Taylor got some help from Evageline Lotulelei and her 21 assists. Bailey Bennett controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Skyline is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-7. As for Syracuse, they have been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Skyline wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Alta on the 21st. As for Syracuse, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Davis on the 21st.
