Volleyball Recap: East Gaston Beats R-S Central for Their Fifth Straight Victory

East Gaston hadn't done well against R-S Central recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Warriors came out on top against the Hilltoppers by a score of 2-0. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: East Gaston took both sets by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-14.

Olivia Horneman paced East Gaston's offense, picking up 14 kills. Horneman got some help from Morgan Styles and her 24 assists. Hannah Massey controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Several Hilltoppers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Olivia Harris, who had 11 digs and two assists.

East Gaston's record is now 6-2. As for R-S Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

East Gaston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Shelby on the 6th. As for R-S Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Franklin on the 6th.
