Elmwood-Murdock wins going away against Fillmore Central

Recap: Elmwood-Murdock Knights vs. Fillmore Central Panthers

The Elmwood-Murdock Knights waltzed into their contest on Saturday with six straight wins but they left with seven. Everything went their way against Fillmore Central as Elmwood-Murdock made off with a 54-29 victory. With that win, Elmwood-Murdock brought their scoring average up to 50.2 points per game.

Tatum Backemeyer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points. She hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney "laney" Frahm, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordyn Stassines, who scored five points along with nine rebounds. Jae Gewcke was another key contributor, scoring four points.

Elmwood-Murdock's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Fillmore Central, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Elmwood-Murdock will head out on the road to face off against Freeman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Freeman is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Fillmore Central, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Centennial at 6:00 p.m. Centennial and Fillmore Central are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
