Tyler Shafer put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in April on Monday. He struck out five batters over 6.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off six hits, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long.

Shafer's strong effort led Metea Valley over DeKalb and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
