Basketball Recap: Providence Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Providence Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 67-25 loss at the hands of the Wilmington Charter Force. While losing is never fun, the Griffins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 268th in Maryland, while the Force are ranked 39th in Delaware).

Providence Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Bryce Unruh and Peyton Riess. Unruh posted 13 points along with seven steals and three blocks, while Riess had nine points and five rebounds. Unruh is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 31 games he's played dating back to last season.

Providence Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Wilmington Charter, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-4.

After both having extra time off, Providence Christian Academy and Avon Grove Charter will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 8:00 p.m. on January 7th. Providence Christian Academy is facing Avon Grove Charter at the right time seeing as Avon Grove Charter is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Wilmington Charter, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against St. Andrew's at 5:00 p.m. on January 7th. Wilmington Charter has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
