Baseball Game Preview: Templeton Eagles vs. Paso Robles Bearcats

The Templeton Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Paso Robles Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Templeton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Templeton let Atascadero stack six runs on them in the second inning on Thursday but luckily Templeton prevailed anyway. The Eagles walked away with a 12-9 win over the Greyhounds. Surprisingly, this marked the Eagles' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

The team relied heavily on Luke Stetz, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Raab, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Templeton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Paso Robles hadn't done well against San Luis Obispo recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bearcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Tigers 4-2. The win was nothing new for the Bearcats as they're now sitting on four straight.

Templeton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Paso Robles, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Templeton was able to grind out a solid victory over Paso Robles in their previous matchup back in March, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
