Softball Recap: Valencia Comes Up Short

After flying high against Golden Valley two weeks ago, Valencia came back down to earth. The Vikings came up short against the Hart Hawks on Thursday, falling 14-3. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hawks earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Valencia's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Hart, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season.

Valencia will head out on the road to take on Saugus at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Centurions' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hart, they will host Burroughs at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
