Eau Claire skates past Columbia with ease

In what's become a running theme this season, the Eau Claire Shamrocks gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They breezed by Columbia at home to the tune of 55-19. Given Eau Claire's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Columbia is ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Destinee Tiller continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with five rebounds and two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Quindia Nelson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.

The victory got Eau Claire back to even at 10-10. As for Columbia, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-21.

Eau Claire will head out on the road to face off against Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbia is on a 12-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Eau Claire a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Columbia will take on Eau Claire at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Eau Claire and Columbia are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
