Basketball Recap: Union-Endicott Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Union-Endicott took on Johnson City on Wednesday. The Union-Endicott Tigers took a 55-41 bruising from the Johnson City Wildcats. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Johnson City found their leader in sophomore Aliya Hankey, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. With that strong performance, Hankey is now averaging an impressive 8.2 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Emery Guzyk, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Union-Endicott's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Johnson City, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union-Endicott will challenge Chenango Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Johnson City, they will square off against Susquehanna Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
