Recap: McDowell Titans vs. North Buncombe Black Hawks
After a 15-5 finish the last time they played, McDowell and North Buncombe decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. The McDowell Titans never let the North Buncombe Black Hawks onto the board and left with a 1-0 win on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for McDowell as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
The result came thanks to Kyson Rinnert's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, McDowell's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eli Elliott, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
McDowell's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for North Buncombe, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McDowell will face off against Erwin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Buncombe, they will head out on the road to square off against T.C. Roberson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
