Softball Recap: Cesar E. Chavez Takes a Loss

Cesar E. Chavez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Heights Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-3 back in February.

Cesar E. Chavez got a big performance out of Daniela Rivera, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Rivera launched this season. Another player making a difference was Ahmani Hawkins, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Cesar E. Chavez's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Heights, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Cesar E. Chavez will square off against Lamar at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Heights, they will take on Wisdom at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
