Softball Recap: Dos Pueblos Takes a Loss

Oxnard hit Dos Pueblos with a five-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Chargers came up short against the Yellowjackets, falling 13-4. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Anastasia Brunner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Zella Cassidy, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Dos Pueblos' loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Oxnard, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4-1 record this season.

While Dos Pueblos had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
