Basketball Recap: Faith Baptist School Piles Up the Points Against Fairwinds Christian

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Holly Grove Christian, Faith Baptist School was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Fairwinds Christian Knights 59-19. With the Falcons ahead 35-12 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Faith Baptist School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bridget Binkley, who went 11 of 15 on her way to 22 points. Those 22 points gave Binkley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Reinert, who posted 17 points and five boards.

When it comes to explaining why Fairwinds Christian lost, don't look at Gabby Johnson. Despite the final result, she put up 17 points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks. That was a full 89.5% of Fairwinds Christian's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Faith Baptist School's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5. As for Fairwinds Christian, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Faith Baptist School will venture away from home to take on Calvary Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairwinds Christian, they will face off against Towle Institute at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
