Volleyball Recap: Smyrna Bulldogs vs. Cookeville Cavaliers

Smyrna came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Cookeville Cavaliers. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Cavaliers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Somaia Jones paced Smyrna's offense, picking up six kills. Jones got some help from Ava Francis and her 16 assists. Emma Brooks controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Ella Hardin, who had six digs and six aces. Those six aces gave her a new career-high.

Smyrna now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Cookeville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season.
