Rockmart has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will head out to take on the Murray County Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Murray County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Rockmart, who comes in off a win.

Rockmart is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe at home to the tune of 49-20 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won three matches by 28 points or more so far this season.

Nate Davis was a one-man wrecking crew for Rockmart as he rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Davis also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making ten total tackles and defending a pass. Another rusher making a difference was Cortez Wright, who rushed for 38 yards and two touchdowns.

He was just one part of a punishing run game: Rockmart was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 335 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Meanwhile, Murray County was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by Coahulla Creek 36-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Indians were not able to get on the board.

Rockmart's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. As for Murray County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything came up roses for Rockmart against Murray County in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, as the team secured a 57-0 win.
