Volleyball Recap: Long Reach Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Long Reach, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wilde Lake Wildecats on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Lightning, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-7, 25-16.

Meredith Brown paced Long Reach's offense, picking up nine kills. Brown got some help from London Clay and her 13 assists. Machela Weaver controlled things from the service line, finishing with eight aces.

Long Reach's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Wilde Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Long Reach and Wilde Lake will both be playing Atholton the next time they take the court. The Lightning will head out to face the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Wildecats will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on October 7.
