Baseball Game Preview: Geneva Eagles vs. Conneaut Spartans

For the second straight game, Geneva will face off against Conneaut. The Eagles will face off against the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Geneva is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Conneaut get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Monday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Brendon Fobell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Geneva is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-6 otherwise. Fobell was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryce Junker, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Kaiden Cottrell also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Geneva was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Conneaut only posted a batting average of .059.

This is the second loss in a row for Conneaut and nudges their season record down to 3-10-1. As for Geneva, their record is now 4-7.
