Baseball Game Preview: Dunnellon Tigers vs. Union County Fightin' Tigers

The Dunnellon Tigers will head out to take on the Union County Fightin' Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dunnellon will be strutting in after a win while Union County will be coming in after a loss.

Dunnellon barely beat Crystal River the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Dunnellon blew past Crystal River 11-1 on Monday. The Tigers not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 14th.

Gavin Whitehead was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Payne, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Meanwhile, Union County scored first but ultimately less than Baldwin in their match on Friday. They lost 15-7 to the Indians. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Fightin' Tigers have suffered against the Indians since April 6, 2017.

JAKE WALKER and Evan Roberts did some serious damage despite the final result: WALKER scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Roberts went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Jeffrey Brugh was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Dunnellon's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Union County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.
