Softball Game Preview: Mountain View Vikings vs. Pioneer Titans

The Mountain View Vikings will face off against the Pioneer Titans at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Mountain View turned things around against Glendale on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Nitros as they made off with a 13-2 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Vikings' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Pioneer had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Coyotes 4-2.

Pioneer's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Mountain View, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.
