Softball Recap: Richwood Lumberjacks vs. Princeton Tigers

After losing to Princeton the last time they met, Richwood decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lumberjacks came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 10-5 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lumberjacks.

Jenna Williams made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kailyn Williams was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Aubree Clark, who went 2-for-4 with three runs.

Richwood's record is now 18-7. As for Princeton, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-23.

Richwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Princeton, they will square off against Herbert Hoover at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
