Softball Recap: Goodrich Takes a Loss

Goodrich started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Negaunee. They fell just short of the Miners by a score of 3-2 on Saturday.

Jayden Gohs was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Goodrich's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Negaunee, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goodrich will challenge Owosso at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Martians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Negaunee, they will square off against Kingsford at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
