Baseball Recap: Utica Comes Up Short

Utica fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Cousino on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. The Chieftains just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Utica saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dominic Ligocki, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Utica's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Cousino, they moved to 11-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Utica beat the Patriots by a score of 8-2 later that day.
