Baseball Recap: Northwest Beats Poolesville for Their Third Straight Win

Northwest lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Poolesville, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's game. The Jaguars blew past the Falcons 10-3 on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Jaguars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Isaiah Babcock was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Babcock was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Brayden Altieri was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Luke Stelmack was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Northwest's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Poolesville, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Northwest will venture away from home to take on Clarksburg at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Coyotes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.55 runs per game on average), something the Jaguars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Poolesville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Watkins Mill at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons are facing the Wolverines at the right time seeing as the Wolverines are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
