The Joppa-Maple Grove Rangers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 101-40 loss at the hands of Meridian. Joppa-Maple Grove was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-25.
When it comes to explaining why Joppa-Maple Grove lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maurice Zabala. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Kasey Cohoon was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Joppa-Maple Grove has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Meridian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.
Joppa-Maple Grove's road trip will continue as they head out to face Marissa/Coulterville at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Meridian, they will take on Waltonville at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
