Baseball Game Preview: Baboquivari Warriors vs. Duncan Wildkats

Baboquivari and Duncan are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Baboquivari Warriors will challenge the Duncan Wildkats at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.

Baboquivari came up short against St. David on Wednesday, falling 15-4. The Warriors have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Jesse Buendia and Kason Garcia did some serious damage despite the final result: Buendia scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2, while Garcia scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Buendia is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Duncan was able to grind out a solid win over Fort Thomas last Wednesday, taking the game 9-5. The Wildkats haven't had any issues with the Apaches recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Ethan Hernandez made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Isaac Harris was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. Karsen Lacey was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Baboquivari now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Duncan, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
