Jordan Steiger was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

On the hitting side, Xaverian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Zafra, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. Meanwhile, St. Dominic waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Firebirds with a sharp 15-5 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bayhawks considering their one-run performance the contest before.

That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Cristian Moreno was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Chris Vangelatos was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Xaverian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like St. Dominic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
