Football Recap: Foothill Victorious

The third road contest was the charm for Foothill, as they earned their first away victory of the season. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 7-6 win over the La Habra Highlanders. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Knights' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Highlanders are ranked 65th).

Foothill didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Caroline O'Neal and Abigail Lawson. O'Neal is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as she's now defended at least one in each of the last seven games she's played.

Foothill's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-6. As for La Habra, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Foothill is set to face off against their familiar foe Fairmont Prep at 1:50 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, La Habra will take on rival Brea Olinda at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
