Volleyball Recap: Gholson Takes a Loss

Gholson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Avalon Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Gholson of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-10, 25-9.

Gholson's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Avalon, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gholson will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Buckholts at 5:00 p.m. on September 19. After both having extra time off, Avalon and Coolidge will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
