Softball Game Preview: Pine Forest Eagles vs. Pensacola Catholic Crusaders

Pine Forest hasn't had much luck against Pensacola Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will welcome the Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. Pine Forest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.1 runs per game this season.

Pine Forest came into this matchup off a tough 11-run defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of West Florida Baptist Academy by a score of 8-6 on Thursday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mary Brockett made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Pensacola Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 15-1 to Destin.

Morgan Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Pine Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Pensacola Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Pine Forest took their victory against Pensacola Catholic in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 15-4 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Crusaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
