Baseball Game Preview: Hornell Red Raiders vs. Livonia Bulldogs

The Hornell Red Raiders will take on the Livonia Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Hornell: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Livonia has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.

Hornell came up short against Haverling on Wednesday, falling 10-3. That's two games in a row now that the Red Raiders have lost by exactly seven runs.

Hornell saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braydon Fouser, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Livonia beat Dansville 6-1 on Wednesday.

Seth Eadie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brady O'Keefe was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaidan O'Connor, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Hornell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Livonia, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hornell has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Livonia struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
