Basketball Recap: Putnam Science Academy Comes Up Short

If Putnam Science Academy was feeling good fresh off their 98-72 takedown of Brewster Academy Prep last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Putnam Science Academy took an 84-79 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broome Street Academy Warriors. Putnam Science Academy's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Broome Street Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Louikenson Exantus Boiron, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Exantus Boiron has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Samuel Acevedo, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 16 points along with five assists and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Putnam Science Academy fell to 3-1. As for Broome Street Academy, they pushed their record up to 18-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Putnam Science Academy will challenge Brewster Academy Prep at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Brewster Academy Prep's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 23 matchups. As for Broome Street Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Patrick School at 5:00 a.m. on Thursday. Patrick School will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Broome Street Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
