Basketball Recap: Lakeland Lakers vs. Garrett Railroaders
Lakeland has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Garrett Railroaders. The Lakers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Railroaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.
Garrett got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah King out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave King a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Reed, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Lakeland's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Garrett, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4.
Lakeland has already played their next game, a 39-37 loss against Wawasee on the 1st. As for Garrett, they will face off against Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Garrett is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season.
